WSJT-X needs cty.dat to be able do DXCC tracking.  It guesses the country from the prefix...which does't always work for compound calls.

You can download the latest here
http://www.country-files.com/cty/

And place it in the same folder as your wsjtx_log.adi file

But I'd recommend you get JTAlert as it does what you want and a whole lot more

Hi Mike,

that's not an accurate description of how WSJT-X does prefix lookups. Firstly WSJT-X already comes with a cty.dat file built in, there's no need to provide another unless you need the latest updates. Secondly, there is no guessing - if a prefix lookup is found to be incorrect then there may need to be some program changes made or possibly an update to the cty.dat file. If there are instances of the wrong entity name being associated with a callsign then let us know please, but note that there are a couple of prefixes that are ambiguous and it is impossible to assign them correctly without an exhaustive list of active callsigns (something that cty.dat attempts to do).

For most users all that is needed is to enable DXCC lookups, for standard format CQ and QRZ messages, in the WSJT-X "Settings Reporting" panel.
