Hi,

I wonder what the rationale behind this is:

"Hounds acknowledge having been called and send their “R+rpt” message at a randomly selected frequency between 300 and 900 Hz."

If I was heard by the Fox on a certain freq., would it not be best to continue the QSO on the same freq?

Keep up the good work.

Hi Per-Tore,

I believe the thinking is that DXpedition mode is to be used with very popular operations where there may be many callers, being heard on one over does not guarantee being heard on the next in those circumstances. OTOH moving to a portion of the band that is free from other callers to complete the QSO should maximize rapid completion. Given that the Fox station may be able to work up to 5 hounds simultaneously a clear frequency for QSO completion should maximize the QSO rate giving as many ops the chance to work the rare DX as possible. The fox also has the option to only work stations weaker than a specified SNR, that should also help minimize QRM.
