Thanks for the insight. Clearly I'm with you, since I've reported it as
a suspected bug :-)  

It seems crazy to transmit a ton of overs that will never get replies
just to "hold your place" in an imaginary queue, doesn't it. 

If there are people in both camps surely this should be an option? Does
the WSJT-X team take pull requests?
