That is a good idea.
But what you think average user, who does not even read manuals, does?
And also in that case that different setup is done for hound usage,
frequencies have to be entered in anyway. It would not be annoying at
all (with info splashes) if you enter "right" frequencies according
FT8-hound/fox or plain FT8.
And using that way we do not even need the Fox/hound selection at
Advanced-tab.

You can easily take care of this by creating a separate Configuration
for Fox & Hound mode.
Very easily done, you don't have to edit frequencies until you know of
a new DXPedition you wish to contact, and you don't have to worry
about changing any other settings that may mess up your normal FT8 usage.
I have to Fox & Hound configurations set up, one for my KX3, and one
for my K2.
