My suggestions would be:

(1) New DXCC should always be top priority.

(2) Make under Settings -> Colors behind each color a checkbox were one can
enable/disable the individual color alert. (Important: Do not only change the
color to white, but disable the algorithm behind it, so that callsign is “free”
for the other alert conditions.) Reason is simple: Not all users are interested
in New Grids or New DXCC, but others may be especially interested in that. When
it is adjustable everyone will be happy.

(3) Make it possible to modify the Alert Priority (e.g. placing a select box
under Settings -> Colors). Screenshot below shows how it is solved in JTAlert.

Betreff: Re: [wsjt-devel] Decode Background Colors - Suggestions

So does no one have any idea how the logic of the decoded call color
assignments works when multiple conditions arise at the same time? Is there any
way to disable any of the colors such as New Grid and New Grid on Band?

I was trying to change the colors in WSJT-X v 2.0.0 rc2 to the way I had some
of them in the previous versions when I realized I don't understand the logic
or priority of them.

Let's just take one situation as an example. Suppose a call is decoded that is
a [new call] & [new grid] at the same time - what default color does the
program display - blue or orange? Of course you can have a new call that is not
a new grid and vice-versa. But what happens if both logic conditions apply (or
even more than two)?

Also, some operators like me may not want the New Grid or New Grid on Band
colors to operate at all (or perhaps more than those two). I see no way to
disable any of the colors. Changing the background color to white doesn't
disable them though, it just uses white as the color. So then the white color
still competes with other logic conditions and other colors as above.

You can pick other examples as well. What is the logic for the colors when
multiple conditions arise for the same call sign? Can the program please
include an option such as check boxes to actually disable the particular decode
alert color, not simply change it's color?
