Hello.

Using v2.0.0-rc2 on Linux/Ubuntu 18.04, with an Icom IC-7100 using the USB-audio.

I've also been seeing this issue sporadically over the last week or so, but I'm having a hard time trying to reproduce it.

Seems to happen more often if I have been cq'ing, and get a reply, and dbl-click the reply just as the radio starts tx with my next cq (and tx msg changes from cq to reply on same period).

The behaviour then is as described by op earlier, tx starts at low pwr, and gradually rises to desired level over the first 5 seconds or so. When this happens, the next period(s) usually behaves normally without any issues.

Have also noticed sporadically small fluctuations in tx-power when pwr-slider is around -25 db (the radio's usb-mod-level setting is at 35%). Giving the wsjt-x pwr-slider a bump up or down then seem to make the issue disappear.

I was able to reproduce this multiple times even after a reboot so I went back to 1.9.1 for the last couple days.

Then today I get the fast ring update for Windows 10 which hosed my VB Cable setup (and all my USB devices which updates seems to like to do) -- so reinstalled VB and now I can't reproduce it.

Can't imagine how two instances, both going through the same audio device, could produce such different results. And I had another ops who was was having the exact same problem but without VB.  So maybe their is some WIndows thing going on.

Alas...all is well now so false alarm until it happens again.

Thanks for response Steve.

Having a problem with transmit signals behaving badly when 12dB down or more on RC2.  The behavior I see is my output power gradually rises over about 3 seconds and that's what started my investigation.  If above 12dB no problem...power is spot on when PTT is asserted...but this is just a symptom of what appears to be a bigger problem.

So I compared the signal being generated by RC2 with 1.9.1.
The image included here is the tune signal from both WSJT-X versions going through the same VB audio cable recorded with Audacity so the audio paths are identical.

First signal is 1.9.1 tune button (looks fine) followed quickly by RC2's tune button (yikes!!).  Both systems at full scale on the pwr slider.
I would hope this can be duplicated on somebody else's system.
And RC1 behaves badly too.

Just for the record, I have not been able to reproduce this issue here on OS X or Linux. I’m using latest development code - but nothing related to generation of the audio output has been changed since RC2.
