Is the specific contest mode used during decode?  Couldn't the meaning of those
3 bits change depending on which contest is in place?

I participated in the mock RTTY Roundup contest yesterday.  What fun.  I am
now even more energized to use wsjtx for the upcoming Winter Field Day.  But
alas, I won't be able to as the class letters are different from the ARRL Field
Day contest.
As was posted on the main wsjtx forum, the wsjtx ARRL Field Day support
validates the class ( [A-F] ) and section.  Winter field day uses different
classes.  However, the same section and qso cadence as the ARRL Field Day is
used.  The classes are: I == Inside, O == Outside, H == Home.  By way of
example, my club's class and section would be 3O GTA.
Here is a link to the WFD Rules: https://www.winterfieldday.com/rules
I know the wsjtx development team has a lot on their plate getting ready for
the upcoming GA. If at all possible, would you be able to support winter field
day (Jan 26-27, 2019) given how close it is to the actual ARRL Field Day
support already in wsjtx.  WFD is actually growing in popularity
year-over-year.

Hi Brian,

the field day class is packed into 3 bits so only eight different classes are
supported. We cannot support three new class letters on top of the existing
six. It could be possible by agreement to use, say, 'A', 'B', and 'C' to
represent 'I', 'O', and 'H' since Winter FD does not use any of the normal FD
classes.
