Hi Bill,

I was fully aware of this before I put the post out there ๐Ÿ˜Š

The logic, I feel, needs a back-check before the condition is evaluated โ€“ that
being the termination of transmission only occurs once the conditions for a 73
are received.

  * It is possible to have WSJT-X keep sending your 73 message without your
intervention until you are happy the QSO is completed.

That is the risk as we all know. Many have observed that for some reason a โ€œ73โ€
response somehow is processed โ€œcleanerโ€ than the RRR73 etc... so use it when
one is in a loop to hopefully end loops. I realise that there is no empirical
evidence for this observation - just anecdote and observation (and I have come
to the same conclusions as well).

Perhaps a hard-to-reconfigure interval for termination is required? i.e. say 2
loops ? I cannot see a need for this to be GUI-configurable.

Hi Steven,

this behaviour is determined by the options "Settings->General->Disable
Tx after sending 73" and "Settings->Reporting->Clear DX call and grid
after logging". You must understand what these options do and also when
you should press the "Ok" button to log a QSO. It is possible to have
WSJT-X keep sending your 73 message without your intervention until you
are happy the QSO is completed.

Your observation and frustration is due to you having enabled features
to speed up operating that have been requested by many, but they do have
consequences that your must account for.
