good questions. For the first I need to check message source encoding routine, it may be that /P is allowed, it appears to be so although I have not tested it end to end.
"/P" is allowed with a grid because it is a valid message format for EU VHF Contest purposes. See User Guide Section 7.4, "Contest Messages",
