Dave,
if you do not want decode highlighting then switch it off
"Settings->General->Show DXCC, grid, and worked before status". That
will also remove the very small CPU overhead of looking up the internal
tables as well so may allow you to get decodes a few milliseconds
faster on your low powered portable PC.
