I've been playing with RC01 to 03 on FT8 at HF - plenty of decodes,
certainly many more than 2.1.2, but I haven't worked that many CQ's -
they didn't respond.
My impression is that using 2.1.2 I was able to get more completed
contacts in the same testing sessions.
Timing is Meinberg controlled, and rig settings etc haven't changed.
Not sure what's going on here, and it could of course be conditions,
luck, or my transmit performance is down due to dry ground (we have had
sunny WX with almost no rain for over a month and my antenna is end fed
against ground), but I also wonder if the more sensitive RC03 decoder is
maybe showing stations that then cannot hear me when I reply without the
more sensitive decoder their end? (ie reciprocity)
I'll see if I can do some more structured testing but wonder if anyone
else is seeing similar differences please?
