Hello Joe and all the WSJTX dev Team,

Many thanks for your big effort, I already compiled new release 2.2.0 on
my Linux OpenSUSE Tumbleweed 64 bit and made some QSO on 20m.

I would like to contribute for UI translation in Italian first and in
case any volunteers didn't appear, also for Portuguese-Brazilian
translation.

I have not direct experience with localization tools and procedures but
probably I could learn quickly how to do it.

Hi Marco,

glad you have WSJT-X v2.2.0 GA up and running on your Linux system.

Please join the new wsjtx-l10n discussion group here https://groups.io/g/wsjtx-l10n where we are coordinating WSJT-X language translations. You will find some information on the tools there in the sticky posts and I am starting to add articles to the Wiki there to new potential translation authors. Translations for Italian and Portuguese as spoken in Brazil would be most welcome. If it is sensible a generic Portuguese translation would be welcome too, that would act as a fallback for any Portuguese regional variant that does not have a specific translation yet. I will make the required unpopulated translation files available once you join that group. Using Linux will make it easy for you as the required Qt Linguist tool is obtained by installing a single package, which you may already have.
