Good afternoon Michael, I repeated the test but I got an error message that I
sent you in a file, but it helped me to discover that when downloading version
2.30.0 r2, it creates a new user for me (I have Jesús as a user with an accent)
and create Jesús \ AppData \ Local \ WSJT-X and inside the folder, two files,
logs ywsjtx_syslog.log, the latter I attach it to you.
I am sending you the requested file, WSJT-X.ini
It seems to me that the problem of version 2.30.0 r2 does not identify a name
with an accent as a user, as in my case Jesús. This did not happen with all
previous versions until 2.30.0 r1
I trust you can solve the problem for me.

See if that starts...if it does your WSJT-X.ini file is corrupted....please
send the WSJT-X.ini file and maybe Bill can figure out what's corrupted.

Good morning Bill, a few days have passed and the situation remains the same,
there is no possibility that the WSJT-X executable starts the program; I
continue to uninstall the program and download it again and from the download
itself, it starts.
I don't know if you have an R3 version planned, to see if it can be corrected.

To: WSJT software development <wsjt-devel@lists.sourceforge.net>

Good afternoon Bill, do all the tests you indicated, it does not show the icons
in the taskbar ...
Defragment the hard disk and carry out a virus scan, repeated the tests after
restarting the pc with negative results ... when I run the program, I observe
that it does two processes without showing anything and stops.
I have downloaded the new version 2.3.0 r2 again and it opens the application
without problems. I did two qsos and link ok with JTAlert, Log4Om v2,
everything ok. It keeps puzzling me that it won't open after closing the
program.
Thanks for your effort in trying to solve the problem for me Bill ..

Bill, I still have no results in the execution of the program; the thumbnails
do not come out in the task bar.
I activated the Task Manager to observe what happens when executing the
program and it seems that Windows detects an error, but I no longer know how to
interpret it as a user; after a few seconds, both processes disappear ...
It is the first time that happens to me with your program and I already have
many updated versions ...
Bill, I hope you can interpret what the picture of the task manager
illustrates ...

  Hi Jesús,
those messages are telling you that another instance of WSJT-X is already
running, possibly because you are trying to start it again after it appears to
fail. It is possible that WSJT-X is starting but the window is off the edge of
your screen, this can happen if you have changed your monitor configuration.
To recover a window off the screen:
   - Hhover the mouse pointer over the task bar icon until the window
thumbnails appear,

   - move the mouse pointer over one of the thumbnails,

   - right-click and select "Move".

   - Once you have done that press one of the arrow keys,

   - that will attach the window to the mouse pointer,

   - and you can drag it back onto your screen.

   - Finally left-click to drop the window where you have dragged it.

Good afternoon, I still have the same problem, sometimes the thumbnail
appears in the taskbar and in the event viewer, I do not appreciate an
application error.
Choose to uninstall the program with the wsjt-x executable, and when reloading
the update, it starts from the download itself, everything working ok.
I close the program and when I try to restart, it is no longer possible; it's
puzzling.
I attach two windows that appear when trying to start again, in case it can
help you with the solution.
I appreciate any suggestion to help me.

 Hi Jesús,

does a thumbnail appear on the Windows Task Bar? If not then you need to
look in the Windows Event Viewer and see is an application error has
 been recorded.
