Jim, The GUI controls (FTol for FST4W and FLow/FHigh for FST4) determine the upper and lower limits of the candidate search window. To first order, these controls do not affect the candidate detection threshold, so a very weak signal should be detected regardless of the size of the search window in which it is located. Increasing or decreasing the width of the search window will increase/decrease the number of spurious candidates, so a larger search window means longer total decoding time and higher false decode rate. That’s why we advise users to narrow the search window to the smallest width that makes sense for the purpose. 73 Steve, k9an _______________________________________________ wsjt-devel mailing list wsjt-devel@lists.sourceforge.net https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/wsjt-devel
