Hi Mike,
this is probably due to the correction of a defect. Automatic logging in
WSJT-X is only supposed to work in contest modes, as implied by the text
in parenthesis in the setting check box label. If you ar enot using
contest modes then you must log each contact by clicking the OK button
in the WSJT-X Log QSO window after reviewing the details to be logged.
In contest modes there is further validation of the QSO details which
prompts the user for completion if incomplete.
