There is something so attractive about the layout of WSJTX. Its addictive. Seeing the callsigns and band activity, albeit in a very very segment is a boon

But we have the mad situation of S9 FT8 signals, while SSB segment is dead or quiet.

Am I being naive to wonder if it would be possible to inject some data onto SSB signals, so one could rest the tuner on an SSB signal and see their callsign, locator and to whom they are on QSO? So an SDR receiver could sweep a band and see what is going on?

WSJTX technology or something similar could enliven many other modes
