Hello Uwe, I've just come across your posting above in response to a report
by Saku about restarting WSJT-X in Hound mode and getting a mixed main
window.

This seems to describe almost exactly what I experience when switching
WSJT-X configurations between a non-Hound FT8 config and a Hound config, as
I described in a posting on 24th September.

Here for completeness here are the results of the more detailed analysis
I've subsequently done on the problem I've observed; I hope the information
is helpful.

*1. Switching from a normal FT8 config to an FT8 Hound config:*

The following all relate to the main window options and layout after the
FT8 Hound configuration is selected and then switched-to.

The 'H(ound)' toggle button is not illuminated red, although the Hound
annunciator is displayed.

The main window layout remains as for the normal config, with the Auto-Seq
and Tx even/1st options not greyed-out and the CQ: drop-down list displayed
and enabled.

The standard messages are displayed with Tx 6 selected as the Next message.

The Settings > Advanced menu (correctly) shows Special Operating Activity
is enabled and Hound is selected.

The frequencies shown in the list in Settings > Frequencies appear to be
correct for the Hound configuration.

Only when the 'H' button is clicked, to toggle to Hound mode, does the main
window layout change to to show the options for Hound mode, ie. Auto Seq is
greyed-out, the Tx even/1st check-box disappears, the Rx All Freqs
check-box is displayed and Tx 1 is selected as the Next message.

*2. Switching back from an FT8 Hound config to a normal FT8 config:*

Again, the following all relate to the main window layout and options after
the normal FT8 configuration is selected and switched-to.

Although the Hound annunciator is no longer displayed, the 'H' toggle
button is still illuminated red indicating that Hound mode is selected.

The main window layout remains as for the previously-selected Hound mode,
ie. Auto Seq is greyed-out, the Tx even/1st check-box is not displayed, the
Rx All Freqs check-box is still displayed and Tx 1 is selected as the Next
message.

The Settings > Advanced menu (correctly) shows Special Operating Activity
is disabled and the Hound option is greyed-out.

The frequencies shown in the list in Settings > Frequencies appear to be
correct for the normal, ie. the non-Hound, configuration.

The Frequency box in the main window highlights a standard FT8 frequency,
eg. 28074kHz in red.

Only when the 'H' button is clicked, to toggle back from Hound mode, does
the main window layout change to show the options for normal FT8 mode, ie.
the Auto Seq check-box is not greyed-out, the Tx even/1st check-box
reappears, the CQ: drop-down list is displayed and enabled, Tx 6 is
selected as the Next message, and the Frequency box changes from red to
black when showing one of the standard FT8 frequencies.

I'm pleased to see that the bug reported by Saku (and me!) is being
addressed and that it should be fixed in the next release of WSJT-X v2.6.0.
