And then used Audacity to add white noise. Was able to add .45 noise and decoded at -16dB. At .46 noise it did not decode. .45 noise https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/xu633odix84cv1mkvki89/240719_213430.wav?rlkey=nvzw4a77eaockxre0c8rz23ck&dl=1 .46 noise https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/n4v1c611ft9r0mmtilty3/240719_213400.wav?rlkey=56v6ej5efeys7xees39jpn28d&dl=1 On the way to this noise level the K8R verified stopped pretty early or was overly sensitive to the DT time since I'm having to key Audacity at the 30-second mark manually. Here's a strong 13dB but the K8R verified does not decode. https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/ylm4qc888mtphmkmx75ui/240719_215130.wav?rlkey=16zxroz2yvtz0cgun2ix4kdbm&dl=1 Mike W9MDB Mike W9MDB On Friday, July 19, 2024 at 03:29:06 PM CDT, Joe Taylor via wsjt-devel <wsjt-devel@lists.sourceforge.net> wrote: On 7/19/2024 3:51 PM, Andy Durbin K3WYC via wsjt-devel wrote: > I'm decoding K8R at -9 for all stations in the decode but, on wide > graph, only the sync tone is visible (barely visible). Reported SNR in all WSJT-X modes is the ratio of received signal power to noise power in 2500 Hz bandwidth, expressed in dB. The FT8 signal is spread over 50 Hz, while the SuperFox signal is spread over 1512 Hz -- 30 times wider. With equal signal strengths, of course it's easier to see the narrow FT8 signal on the waterfall. -- 73, Joe, K1JT _______________________________________________ wsjt-devel mailing list wsjt-devel@lists.sourceforge.net https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/wsjt-devel _______________________________________________ wsjt-devel mailing list wsjt-devel@lists.sourceforge.net https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/wsjt-devel
