I used this WAV file

And then used Audacity to add white noise.
Was able to add .45 noise and decoded at -16dB.  At .46 noise it did not decode.

On the way to this noise level the K8R verified stopped pretty early or was 
overly sensitive to the DT time since I'm having to key Audacity at the 
30-second mark manually.

Here's a strong 13dB but the K8R verified does not decode.

Reported SNR in all WSJT-X modes is the ratio of received signal power 
to noise power in 2500 Hz bandwidth, expressed in dB.

The FT8 signal is spread over 50 Hz, while the SuperFox signal is spread 
over 1512 Hz -- 30 times wider.  With equal signal strengths, of course 
it's easier to see the narrow FT8 signal on the waterfall.
