Hi Peter,

I have never experienced the problem you are describing. The problem I see
is very easy to reproduce.

If you can come up with a way to reproduce the problem, I could take a shot
at it.

Let me see if I have this right.

Have a USB based sound card attached to the Windows computer

Open WSJT-X

(do you have to go into transmit?

Power down the sound card (does a simple disconnect also cause it)

WSJT-X puts up the "Error in sound card" message (is it always transmit
audio, usually transmit). (Does it only happen whey you are transmitting?)

(Does going into settings/Audio tab and setting the menu items for sound
cards resolve the issue?

(What rig are you using)

And, oh. by the way. can anyone answer the original question (If I come up
with a change that would make the product better, what is the typical
procedure submitting it? Create a git branch and merge request? File that
can be used as an input to patch? Something else? Are there coding
standards (lint, etc)?
