Title: Self Employed Income Verification
When/if this happens, we will try and access the previous years taxes.  If this is not available, then we try and get information from the employer or who is paying this applicant under the table.  You might even want to go visit the place of employment, check license numbers etc.  The bottom line, if someone can't provide you with the previous years taxes, then maybe they aren't a good candidate for the loan. And from our experience, there is a reason why they are getting paid under the table and that is usually because they are trying to ditch out of paying child support.  (demonstrates character)  I would identify these problems with the committee members and they would make their decision based on that.
Hope this helps.

Subject: [WTW] Self Employed Income Verification

Hi All,

We recently received an inquiry for a Family Loan from an applicant that is self employed and is paid in cash.  Since we need to verify the applicants wages for both program eligibility and capacity for repayment, how is this handled when the applicants wages are undocumented?  Has anyone ever encountered this situation?  If so, can you please share your experience with our site?

Thank You in Advance
