Title: Self Employed Income Verification
Hello Richard,

I would suggest getting income tax returns.  You could get them for the past 2 years and that would give you an idea of what he will be making this year.  Also, depending upon the kind of work that he does, he may have some type of accounts receivable and their payment records for his own accounting records.  If he is strictly paid in cash the income tax returns may be your only source of income verification.

Subject: [WTW] Self Employed Income Verification

Hi All,

We recently received an inquiry for a Family Loan from an applicant that is self employed and is paid in cash.  Since we need to verify the applicants wages for both program eligibility and capacity for repayment, how is this handled when the applicants wages are undocumented?  Has anyone ever encountered this situation?  If so, can you please share your experience with our site?

Thank You in Advance

Richard Ruiz
