Robin,
All
three of my banking partners automatically put us on the title as second
lienholder, however, I don't believe you have to be a lienholder to ask
for the keys.

Subject: RE: [WTW] 2nd set of keysMy Question is: Do we have to be listed as the second lien holder on the title in order to retain a copy of the key? Currently in Canton Ohio, the bank is listed as lien holder, based on the loan documents. The bank then hands the title over to our office to hold and actually secures the loan with our Business Money Market Account. When the client charges off or pays in full, we take the title to our local bank branch and the lien is released. We started doing it this way in order to avoid the BANK collection dept from being able to just order a repossession without our knowledge, because now they do not retain the title in their underwriting dept.Robin SCanton Ohio-----Original Message-----

Subject: RE: [WTW] 2nd set of keysWendy,We are ALWAYS placed on the Title as a second lien holder AND we make our clients sign a key agreement. They MUST give us a key to their vehicle. A helpful hint though...Always make them try the key in the ignition to be sure it is the correct key. Or, to make sure it is not a defective copy.We go through a ceremony of sorts. We make the client come in with the key and we take a picture of them in front of their new vehicle. We tell them that this is so we can put them up on our "Board of Success". What we're actually doing is getting two pictures of the car. One from the side and one from the rear with the license plate displayed. This is for repossession purposes. Then we make them turn the extra set of keys in the ignition to make sure it does work, saying just that. "Sometimes copies of keys don't work, so could you just start the car up for me to make sure it does." I actually found out once that a woman was really purchasing the car for her boyfriend that way. When I asked her to start up the car, she didn't know how. It was a stick shift and she didn't know she had to push the clutch in. But, that's another story...I digress. At any rate, the photos of the cars and an extra key can make the repossession process much easier and will save you time and money later. I have attached a copy of our "Key Agreement" for your review. Take Care. Dawn Washington - Ways to Work - Allentown, Pennsylvania.-----Original Message-----

Subject: [WTW] 2nd set of keysHello everyone,We are looking into the possibility that our program receive a set of keys for vehicles purchased through Ways to Work. This would save money if a repossession had to take place. My question is this: How do we do this? Do we need to be placed on title as 2nd lien holder? Any suggestions would be appreciated.Thank You,Wendy Green, Canton OhioWendy M Green
