Hey everyone,
The road race is right upon us so just a few reminders before
Wednesday's meeting. First off, we need everyone on the team to be present
for both days of racing. This includes mountain guys as well as road.
Helping out with the two races we put on each year is part of you
membership in the club and I can assure you that a lack of participation in
this coming weekends event will seriously affect your team benefits and
future membership. We need people to marshal turns, drive cars, and help
with general organization so if you have friends or family willing to help
out please let me know. Bringing along someone to help out and being useful
yourself could result in additional team benefits and/or credits to your
account but only if you earn it. I can not express how important it is that
we have enough people to make this a fun and safe weekend for the other
teams in the conference as well as our own. We have developed a reputation
of putting on quality events and we need to maintain it.
Also, this weeks meeting is MANDATORY! I know everyone has very busy
schedules but you must make time this week to come to the meeting. There
are many faces that I have not seen more than once this year and if I do
not see you this week and weekend your team standing will not be too great.
If you have smallpox or something shoot me a text and I will try to be
understanding. Again, this goes for both mountain and road members.
Honestly, the team should be viewed as a year round commitment rather than
only showing up during the season you most participate in. If meeting
turnout and team participation does not begin improving, we will have to
make dues a yearly expense, resulting in an almost doubling in cost, to
encourage greater turnout in members' lesser focused seasons. I am not
trying to scold anyone but it is kind of pathetic how many people seem to
not care about the actual team and its future but only care about it in the
context of what it can do for them. Anyways, that is just my little rant
for the day.
Again, we need people out there this weekend. It doesn't reflect well on us
if our club cant even field enough people to properly put on our own
race.Thanks in advance to everyone that I already know will
be indispensable once this weekend rolls around. Please be recruiting
volunteers throughout the week and try to have a list to me by Wednesday.
If everyone in the club can bring just 1 person with them this weekend we
