Honestly, that's an expensive and even crippled X11 server on vastly overdimensioned hardware! XQuartz is great if you need X11 on a Mac that also needs to run Mac applications but if you do all your work on Linux anyway it'd make more sense to run that OS on the Apple hardware (provided that's an option, of course). XQuartz lacks support for compositing (no DRI) and if hardware-accelerated OpenGL is still possible it's probably still limited to 2.1 or some such old version.
