I finally found out what the problem was. The Nvidia drivers don't have 
extensions for remote connections. If I use VirtualGL as a proxy to open a 
connection I don't have any issues.

vglrun -c proxy firefox will work.

      Might try re-installing libc on the off chance it was corrupted.
