I find this an interesting distinction. Xalan-C is an open source project, with no official support mechanism. Why would they care if you were using some particular "official" release, since there's no quantitative difference in the level of support you would receive?


The reason why I need Xerces 3.0.1, by the way, is because I'd like to use
Xinclude statements and use XPath to access the XML.

Unfortunately, I am swamped at work right now, with no end in sight. I really would like to get a release out the door, but there is a fair amount of infrastructure work, such as updating the documentation, and regenerating the web site which is very time consuming, partiularly since I've never done those tasks before.

One thing I can do is create a release branch so people can do some beta testing. I suggest you test your application with the current head of the SVN trunk and report any issues you see.
