Yes, individual developers build the D developer releases, which means
that various things can affect distro size, including JDK used to
compile and any extra files a developer happens to have in their local
repository.  This is why it's always a good idea to do a clean, then an
update of the whole xml-xalan tree, and then check the cvs update log
to make sure all your files are updated and you don't have any extra
files.

Also, Don has been experimenting with some different formatting for the
doc (plain stylebook, new DITA, etc.) which may account for some
differences.  One thing we should think about is splitting our distro
into -bin and -src distros.
