normalize-space does not properly handle text data

Tried it on my machine, running Sun JDK131 on NT. Output was:

Tried removing the extra space after the first 0 in your transcribed input file; 
output still looks good.

Weird that it happens for you and not for me...

But I'll take a look at your patch.
