Martin, We have exchanged emails on this topic before and even spoken in person about XAP. I as you have encouraged the XAP team to ONLY communicate via the mailing list. So let me ask again to everyone involved in XAP.
XAP Committers Everyone has worked hard on this project for the last year and a half, I have over 2500 emails in my Jira folder and a 1093 in the commits folder. This is only 50% of what we need to do, let's be diligent about using the mailing list, and building community. A great code base isn't enough. -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Martin Cooper Sent: Tuesday, February 05, 2008 12:12 AM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: XAP Release 0.5.0 On Feb 4, 2008 3:59 PM, Bob Buffone <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > I would like to thanks Trevor for getting together the latest XAP > release. How did you know he had done that? Other than a couple of +1s to the suggestion that it was time for a release, I have seen no discussion on this list of who might do it, what would be included,or when it would be rolled. +1 > The release looks real good. How did you know where to get it? When did the build (not yet release, by the way) happen? How did all the developers know to stop checking in for a bit, so that the build could be rolled? How did Trevor know that everyone else was ready? Folks, ALL of the discussion MUST happen on this list. There cannot be any secret discussions. That deliberately excludes the rest of the (potential) community, and community is what the ASF is all about. More than code, we are about community. And without a community, and a community spirit, this project *will not graduate* from the Incubator. Speaking of which, this cannot be an 0.5.0 release, since the project is still in the Incubator. It must be an 0.5.0-INCUBATOR release, to make the project status clear to anyone who goes to download it. -- Martin Cooper +1 > It has been around a year since > are last release, and many improvements have been added to the XAP > framework.
