hey Rob,

as Martijn explained, we don't allow monetization of addons in our repo.
this means no advertisements and/or no paid subscriptions are permitted
in repo addons.
the only exception we make is for content providers who own the
copyright to the content they provide.
for example, there are several video plugins in our repo that require a
paid subscription from the content provider
in order to watch those streams. this is certainly ok with us.

given the fact that the content provided by tv tunes already falls in
the grey area (most tunes are pirated mp3's
distributed without the consent of the copyright owner), we do feel that
making those available for a fee
is crossing a line we, as a team, are not comfortable with.

you, as the developper of the addon, have total freedom to make whatever
changes to the addon as you desire
and it's not our intention to prohibed anyone from using the addon.
if you wish to split the addon and provide one part through a private
repo, that's not a problem for us.
just as long as you don't advertise for the paid addon on our forum/wiki
(see forum rules).
but i don't see an issue if you would, for instance, link your donation
button to your own site,
where users can find more info on this addon.

cheers,
ronie
