CROSS COUNTRY SKI TRAIL REPORT
TRAIL CONDITIONS
Updated: March 15, 2002
This report will not be updated again until Monday, March 18.
Moderate temps with highs in the low 30s. Snow likely Thursday into Friday and again Saturday into Sunday.
ABR TRAILS
Ironwood, MI
3/14 - All trails were groomed today 3/14 except the 2 km flat loop. Conditions: Excellent. The ABR Season Closer races will take place on Sat. and Sunday, March 16 & 17. The trails will continue to be open.
AFTERHOURS CROSS COUNTRY SKI TRAIL/BRULE RIVER STATE FOREST
Brule, WI
3/11 - Over 20" new snow fell in the last week. The trail was packed through the storm and will be finish groomed on Monday 3/11. Conditions are as good as they get.
AMERICAN BIRKEBEINER TRAIL
Groomed and track set on 3/11. Conditions: Excellent.
ASHLAND SKI TRAIL
Ashland, WI
3/3 - Trail is tracked and groomed and in excellent condition.
BEAR CROSSING SKI TRAILS
Medford, WI
3/15 - Due to the lastest snow and rain storms that have passed through our area, it has become impossible to groom our trails, so for now they will be closed, until further notice.
BEAVER BROOK SKI TRAIL
Spooner, WI
Substantianal snowfall has resulted in a large number of trees hanging over the trail making it impassable for grooming. Once the trees are removed the trail will be groomed.
BLUE HILLS TRAIL
Much of the trail system was rolled Sunday, March 10; a shallow striding lane was set in some areas . Conditions were very good to excellent . Friday night's rain crystallized the trees, the base has absorbed the rainfall and has become firm with an assist from the cold temperatures, and skiers today had fun dodging the ice-coated branches lining the trail. A gorgeous day to be outside . Grooming will be completed Monday, March 11 after our groomer gets a well-deserved overnightrest.

3/14 - Approximately 32 KM of the Telemark/North End/Kortelopet 65 KM trail system
have been groomed for skating. This includes the Birkebeiner Loops, Tony
Wise, North End A & B Trail, Sven Wiik and Caldwell World Cup trails.

of snow are forecast for Thursday. Trails will be groomed for the weekend.
TIMBERLAND HILLS SKI TRAILS

3/13 - The trails have been groomed and tracked since last weekend's snowstorm. There is plenty of snow, the most we've had all winter. Expect spring conditions- icy in the morning and evening, and slushy during midday. More snow is in the forcast, we'll see what happens.
