Reading the web-leaves at <http://www.MadNorSki.org/> :

1. Snow cover is 1" or less over most of the state.

2. Snow cover up north near or in the UP is good to excellent.

3. Rock skis and the right attitude (thanks Mike) allow for skiing at Glenway (Speedway & Mineral Point Rd.), Odana Golf Course (see web site for directions), and various other locations where the grass is kept short and debris is removed. Frozen surfaces like ponds and the such also make for opportunities to get out.
