The grassy portions of Odana are getting marginal, but the real gem remains the small frozen pond at the southwestern edge of Odana (near the Beltline). I saw Pete Anderson skiing there too (I hardly recognized him with his shirt on). There are a few bare ice spots where the snow has been blown clean, but overall there is enough snow coverage to do laps. The snow was getting soft today with the above-freezing temperatures and full sun, but I'm thinking that a nice crust will form Sunday once it cools off, making for some fairly enjoyable pond skiing.
