Here are the steps:
1. define the ip addresses for the nodes to be installed in /etc/hosts
file on the management node.
2. make dynamicrange a empty string in the networks table for the network
the nodes are in.
3. run makedns if the mn is the DNS server
4. run makedhcp -d <noderange> to remove the old entries in the dhcp lease
file.
5. run makeshcp <noderange> to add the nodes back.
6. nodeset <noderange> <install or netboot>
7 you can start install the nodes. The nodes will take the static ip
defined for them in the /etc/hosts file on the mn.

Hope it helps.

Subject: [xcat-user] IP address is dhcp?

When I installed the server by the xCAT 2.0 , the server's IP address
still is dhcp in the /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth0.
I want to know how to set up the static IP address by xCAT during
installing .

Thanks.
