What distribution are you using? I generally see that if the incorrect
xcat-dep repository is added (e.g. adding the top level directory instead
of a subdirectory for your distro/major version)

e.g. centos/sl/rhel 6.x should use the x86_64 for 'rh6' specifically.

Subject: [xcat-user] conserver deps during yum install

Is it possible to allow conserver to be less dependent on the specific
version of libssl and libcrypto?

If I have a newer version of openssl-libs installed, it balks at the
version number. Maybe it can just require openssl >= SOMEVERSION instead?

You could try using --skip-broken to work around the problem
You could try running: rpm -Va --nofiles --nodigest
