Might also run makedhcp -a or makedhcp -d node1879 and makedhcp node1879
to remove the one node and add it.
You can also run makedhcp -q node1879 to look at it's definition
see man makedhcp

Thank you Jonathan, I didn't find that email thread either. At least not
specific to both dhcp and upgrading to 2.8.4.
We tried recreating the dhcp config file using makedhcp -n but that didn't
work.

Lanae,
I remember that only a few weeks ago another user had DHCP problems after
upgrading to 2.8.4. For him it worked to just recreate the DHCP config by
running makedhcp with the respective arguments. I did not find that mail
on
the fly, but you should be able to retrieve it from the xcat mailing list
archive.
[Please mind that I'm not official xcat support - only a user myself and
following the list.]

Yes, we have many nodes working that have primarynic=eth2, only a few
don't
work.

Someone tried to rinstall a node and sent me this screenshot from
the
node's console. I recently upgraded xCAT from 2.7x to 2.8.4. We use
only diskful installs and Scientific Linux. I don't think this is
caused by the upgrade though, I've tested other nodes rinstall
fine.
As for the upgrade, I have our osimage definitions set up, but not
converted provmethod to the osimages yet.
I looked up the messages in the screenshot, but not making sense of
it. Any tips would be greatly appreciated, for where to look
within
xcat for the cause of this DHCP/xCAT issue. Also is there anything
outside of xcat that we should look into, I'm not a network expert
but I can pass the information to one.
