Folks,

In some recent work with Ubuntu I ended up opening a bug to request the
netboot files (vmlinux, initrd.gz) be added to the server CDROM for
powerpc64 and ppc64el archs. They put the netboot files on the CDROM
for the amd64 arch but they currently don't do it for the PPC archs.

If the files were present it would allow a "nodeset <node> install" to
get the files from the ISO for the PPC archs in the same way it does for
x86, without having to download the netboot files separately. (It's
debian.pm here, but all the other distros and all the other .pm modules
do it this way AFAIK).

Other good reasons for having the files on the ISO: less hassle, less
chance for mismatch between netboot files and CDROM or netboot files and
upstream repo. This is particularly helpful when testing the Ubuntu
daily builds.

If you feel this is important as I do and would like to see Ubuntu put
the netboot files on the PPC ISOs, please add your comments to the bug here:

Thanks,
Dave H.
