Hi Jason,

Just a FYI, we are in the process of moving over to http://xcat.org in
preparation for the xCAT 2.11 release in Dec, you can take a peek if you
want although things will change around in the next month.

The static naming of the dep tar-balls started before the 2.10 GA, which
we just renamed incase a user wants to get the dep package that was
officially used during out regression testing for that release.
It looks like we missed it for the 2.10 GA release... I'll fix that on
xcat.org. We try not to break backwards compatibility for the deps
package so using the latest snap should work or picking up one of the 2.9
snaps should work as well.

I think our Ubuntu support started with 14.04, so I'm not sure if 12.04
will work without any modifications needed.
Feel free to give it a try and let us know... Maybe someone else with
more Ubuntu experience will chime in on this mailing list....

The copycds command may need the -n option passed to it to give it a
name... something like "copycds -n ubuntu12.04 <path/to/iso/file>"

Subject: [xcat-user] xcat-dep for xCat 2.8.4 on Ubuntu

The Ubuntu xcat-dep tarball for 2.8.4 is not available for download via
sourceforge.
http://sourceforge.net/projects/xcat/files/xcat-dep/2.x_Ubuntu/

Should one of the snap tarballs be used?

Also, does xCat 2.8.5 support Ubuntu 12.04?
It isn’t listed in under the verified OS’s in the release notes:
http://sourceforge.net/p/xcat/wiki/XCAT_2.8.5_Release_Notes/
