Chris, Looks like a limitation of xCAT on this type of hardware. It appears we only get BMC firmware information from the ipmi call. What is the manufacturer and model of your new x86 node ? When I say "Used to report", I meant that older hardware with IMM2 used to (and indeed still does with the current version of xCAT) report firmware versions. Newer hardware with an XCC does not. On power9, rinv <nodename> firmware gives: "Error: Unsupported command: rinv firmware" rflash -l <nodename> lists a set of firmware.
