Chris,

Looks like a limitation of xCAT on this type of hardware.
It appears we only get BMC firmware information from the ipmi call.

What is the manufacturer and model of your new x86 node ?

As you allude to, using "firmware", not "firm" works on x86, but not on
power9

Chris,

For p9 nodes, try "rinv <node> firm"

Also, can you show the "rinv" output from new and old x86 hardware ? I
would like to see the difference in the output.

Hi Mark,
                 This is on x86 nodes.

When I say "Used to report", I meant that older hardware with IMM2 used to
(and indeed still does with the current version of xCAT) report firmware
versions. Newer hardware with an XCC does not.

On power9,

rinv <nodename> firmware
gives: "Error: Unsupported command: rinv firmware"

rflash -l <nodename>
lists a set of firmware.

Chris,

Is this on P9 or x86 nodes ?

Also, when you say "It used to report", do you mean on an older version of
xCAT or some older hardware ?

rinv <nodename> firmware

currently only reports the BMC firmware.

It used to report IMM version.

Is it possible to get it to report the XCC version, and indeed other
firmware like the network card?
