Hello Romano,

The problem is that sometime the dashed lines would disappear from the
display; as if their width were zero. The strange things is that if I
select it they will appears perfectly. This happen only if the zoom is not
so high and only on my high-resolution display (1600x900 in a laptop, never
seen in the lower one).

In the following screenshot, there are two identical squares in the drawing
--- one selected and one not.

I seem to recall seeing this problem before, a long time ago, and I
remember it having to do with the graphics driver and/or graphics
card. If I'm remembering correctly, it had to do with Matrox cards,
which puts it way back in the day. I've always used Nvidia cards and
drivers, and have never had the problem. What graphics card and
driver are you using?

I will look through my emails, code history, etc., and see what I can
dig up about the issue. I have the feeling that it was an unresolved
problem, although I expect that a software workaround would not be too
difficult.

2) something has gone bad, the appearance of the app is bad and it seems
not to read my ~/.xcircuitrc-3.8 at all. See here: http://imgur.com/rsLDMiD

So --- what am I doing wrong this time?

The application has been compiled without Tcl/Tk support. Perhaps you
had to use a specific configuration option to point to the Tcl/Tk
distribution the first time, so your new "./configure --prefix=..."
failed to find the Tcl/Tk files and reverted to the non-Tcl/Tk version.

The support for reading the .xcircuitrc file with the version number
extension was put into the tclxcircuit.c code, so it only applies to
the Tcl/Tk version.
