This is a point worth noting. This wont make a pretty .igc log file.
(But I already get those from my Volkslogger and my Flarm so this is not
an issue for me).

Does XCSoar use GPS height or barometric height for final glide and
terrain clearance calculations? If it uses barometric height, does it
(can it) compensate for changes in QNH pressure?

Would imply that the "zig zag" wind speed calculations were also bugged?
If so that is a significant bug to fix.
