I flew with 6.1 (unofficial pre-release) last weekend and experienced 
no latency during the flight using an IPAQ 3950 and the PPC2003 
version of XCSoar, IIRC the IPAQ runs Pocket PC.

I was flying North Up which may have a certain impact.  But terrain 
and topology were on the entire time and zoom in/out was immediate.
