you are right. To boost translation speed I always search through the
sources and have a look in what context a text token is used.

Launchpad at least gives the source file and line as a hint.

Having a copy of the git repository is no pain, but may be not the first
choice for every translator. Programmer comments in the text templates
are nor really a solution.
