Not transflective? The reason why I said that is that its specs at Amazon state as much [1]. CNET said its transmissive, though. I take your word for it!
Either way, the 310's display is the first PDA display that I can actually read in the glider - I've tried a Palm back in the days (with SoarPilot), then a Dell Axim x51v. Side-by-side, I found an Oudie and my 310 similar in brightness and readability (tested on the ground). It's pretty good value for money. I use mine with a RAM mount and a short USB cable going into a socket in the instrument panel (using a Neutrik Feedtrough USB socket).
