I have seen this error a number of times too, both in summer > 35C and more recently in autumn < 20C. > My guess is: the Streak is just clever enough to detect this situation > and attempts to protect the battery. Some questions and comments: 1) Does the Streak actually stop the charging, or does it merely display a warning advising the user to unplug the USB cable? I suspect the latter - but the side effect of that is I loose my IOIO comms. 2) I set my IOIO charging current to be quite high (close to max) to ensure reliable USB detection. Perhaps this should be set as low as possible, to reduce heat build up. Does anybody have any experience on this? 3) I am not sure that XCSoar does not play some part in this. At least some of the occasions that I have seen this have been at the same time that I have experienced XCSoar freeze up, or loose IOIO comms. Perhaps XCSoar gets stuck in a 100% CPU utilization loop and adds to the heat build up. Hopefully as the bugs get squashed this issue will improve. 4) I have taken to putting the Streak into the cockput just before launch. The added advantage is that it is then in my briefcase, or my pocket, which is convenient when there are late changes to a contest task. It may be that I need to consider cooling of the Streak (or protecting it from being heated by the sun) for next summer.
