I used XCSoar for a while on an PDA and PNA and this last year I have used a
Streak 5, I must say that the Android platform works much better, in fact if
it wasn't for the buttons I would say that it is even better than the
Altair.
There are times when the touch screen does not compare with the buttons and
rotary encoders and I would like to investigate the possibility to make an
external set of buttons for the Android platforms.

The ideal case would be to connect something to the ioio but that requires a
standard to be defined and some programming into XCSoar.
Another possibility is to make a Bluetooth HID device that should not
require any special driver and that could be user customised using the
events in XCSoar.

Before going further I would like to know if there is some plans to go
either way or another way.

Cheers

Jax
