Hi Jax, he is actually not talking about the IOIO. What he wants to do is build a dedicated device that can be connected as a UART input device like a GPS. The advantage of that design is that the structure in XCSoar doesn't need to be changed to support the digital inputs of the IOIO board, it only needs to handle NMEA sentences and map them to key strokes. There are valid reasons for both options and we gladly support anyone who wants to implement either one of them.
