Sorry for not being more specific. The order from best to worst is:
Dell Streak 5, Samsung Galaxy, Mio. Note that this comparison is only
for daylight visibility. All three work equally well for displaying
maps and data and performing the computations. The two Android devices
are easier to update since it's so simple to download and install from
the Android Play Store and their larger 5-inch screens are brighter and
have higher resolution. Both the Galaxy and the Streak have Bluetooth
and I was able to connect each to my Cambridge 302 via a K6-BT serial to
Bluetooth converter.

My first device was a Mio. It's small and light and was easy to mount
to my panel using a universal cell phone mount. I was able to mitigate
the readability issue by making a sun shade from light cardboard (file
folder) and attaching it around the top and both sides of the Mio with
tape. I used it for a couple of months before buying the Samsung.

The Samsung Galaxy had a larger (5 inch) screen and was brighter than
the Mio. I did not need a shade with it; only needing to occasionally
shade it with my hand or change the angle slightly in the sun. I also
added an anti-glare sheet to the screen and it helped with reflections.
I used it quite successfully for about 6 months until I made a side by
side comparison of my Galaxy with a friend's Streak.

The Streak 5's display is hands down the winner in readability. The
transflective technology actually gets brighter in the bright light
since it absorbs the light and then reflects it back through the liquid
crystal, acting like an extremely bright back light. It actually uses
less power in daylight than in dark! Note that I keep saying Streak
*5*, not Streak 7 or 10 or whatever. It's only the Streak 5 which uses
this display technology.

The Streak 5 is obsolete and no longer in production but can be had on
Ebay and Amazon and, surely, other websites. I've seen prices varying
from US $150 to $999! I dropped my first Streak and broke the screen
and, luckily for me, I found a replacement for $149 and it included a
$40 Otter Box protective case. I found replacement screens for about
$120 so it was an easy decision to buy the used Streak. It's in perfect
condition. I've now found a source for replacement screens for under
$50 each and I'm thinking of buying 2 or 3 of them - one to replace my
broken one and a couple of spares in case I do it again and to help out
any friend who may break his. Having two functioning Streaks will be
great as I explore Android OS upgrades, etc.

I hope I answered your questions.
