Adam,

I build some IOIO board based trial systems, facing similar problems. Then
I got into problems with housings, etc. Since I was building these for club
use, I needed to be sure that my experiments do not cause harm to others,
like our junior members, I had to abandon my home-build hacks. Radio
disturbances was one issue.

Therefore we developed the UART extension board, it works and all
connetions are already tested. Soldering RJ45 connctor to PCB holes is mch
easier than building specil abes, etc. There are jumpers to select where to
feed 12V etc. It also has build-in splitter for FLARM use, and it solves
the problem of declarations when IOIO board and external displays are
connected parallel. We try to keep it's price as low as possible. Currently
we are out of stock, but we can get factory made circuit-boards in two
weeks, is someone wants.

I have some IOIO boards we used for testing, and RS232/TTL level sifters, I
can sell on low price, or donate, those for student projects, etc.
