I have been using a Streak for over a year. While I use XCSoar with a
IOIO card connect to Flarm and gliding computer for flying, I also use
the Streak for mountain biking, with its internal GPS. I log my rides
using "MyTracs" application, and I have also played with other GPS
software for mapping, navigation, geo tagging etc. I have noted the
following:

- When I had Andriod 2.2.2 installed, the internal GPS was faultless and
I accumulated many logs of cycling GPS tracks without any errors.

- Since I flashed Olleh 2.3 version, I have started having GPS issues.
But the problems are not consistent, some applications, like the free
"See You Recorder" IGC logger consistently have issues, while others
applications do not. I can also get SY Recorder to work or stop working
by opening and closing other GPS applications.

- I have played with an application "GPS Status". Sometimes when there
are problems, I open GPS Status and it shows no satellites at all for a
long period, but if I close all GPS applications then open GPS Status it
very soon starts picking up satellites, even if it takes a while to get
a fix.

- The few occasions I have used internal GPS with XCSoar, it worked fine.

I suspect this is a software issue and it may have something to do with
settings for AGPS and "Google privacy". Maybe it is related to a change
of behaviour of different GPS API's provided by Android with the
different OS version. I have not done any systematic testing and this is
a bit off topic for XCSoar. But maybe the developers can comment.

I never had any GPS problems with my Streak running Android 2.2.2, so I
don't think that this is a GPS hardware issue.
